Our Team

Joe Wentworth became pastor of Central Assembly in August 2005. Joe grew up in Mt. Pleasant and attended Sacred Heart Academy High School. In 1995 he graduated from Central Michigan University with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and Criminal Justice.

While attending CMU Joe met his wife Deb and on May 20, 1995 they were married in Grand Rapids, MI. They have 3 children, Ally (1998), Trey (2000) and Zach (2002).

From 1995 until 2002 Joe was a probation and parole officer. During his tenure as a probation officer Joe had an encounter with God that would change him for eternity. In 2002 Joe left his position as an agent of the court and became the associate pastor at Central Assembly.

In 2005 Joe became the lead pastor of Central Assembly. Since that time God has continued to stir Joe's heart for God's people. We are excited about what God has done in our past, but we are more excited about what God continues to do in the lives of all us.

Don Smith has been an integral part of Central Assembly of God for many years. Don has served in several capacities over the years. Most recently Don serves on the Board of Directors as the Church Secretary. Don volunteers in the offices Monday - Friday and manages many of the day to day activities that keep us productive and moving forward.

Don is a retired school teacher from the Mt. Pleasant Public Schools. He and his wife Jane have been married for 42 years and have three adult children, Paul, Christine and Kim as well as four grandchildren.
