"Central Assembly" was started as an independent house church in 1945 under the leadership of Earnest Anthony. Over the years "Central Assembly" would expand and contract as a body of believers.
1994 Pastor Steve Bradshaw took over the reigns as the lead pastor for Central Assembly and during his time in our community the church grew to a weekly gathering of over 300 people.
Pastor Steve would leave Central Assembly in 2003 to assume the role of Director of Church Planting for Assemblies of God, Michigan District.
In 2003 Pastor Jeff Cromwell became the lead pastor of Central Assembly. Pastor Jeff led Central Assembly in a building program and a 20,000 square foot addition was added to our meeting facility.
Pastor Jeff also established Central Christian Academy which is a daycare and preschool center for children ages 6 weeks through 5 years. In 2005 Pastor Jeff resigned as the lead pastor.
In August 2005 Pastor Joe Wentworth became the lead pastor of Central Assembly. In the time since Joe became pastor, God has been moving Central Assembly in new and exciting directions.
In the words of Leonard Sweet, we have been "moving forward to our roots." Our desire is to obey Jesus Christ and his command to love God with our whole heart, mind, soul and strength and to love our neighbors as ourselves.
Through Jesus Christ we have no intentions of simply reading about history, but making history.
